So I've been neglecting this blog a great deal since I got a job and totally went back to school. This having been said...I'm going to start using it again.
Fragments of my Nano novel for 2006, Fate and Second Chances will be posted here from time to time. I hope everyone will enjoy this strange fantasy piece I intend to write!

Since no one likes Discovering Phoenix....I suppose it's out of the running.
For the moment, I suppose I'll work with both Digsite and the untitled third option (mostly for Julz sake, though I really like that project, too ^_^). Since there's been more voting for Digsite, I shall attempt to direct my muse in its general direction rather than toward the untitled piece (which is where it's been tending toward lately -- I have no idea why, other than the fact that maybe it's because of the sexual tension between my narrator and Ailise that Shanzi and I have both identified). I promise I will ^_^
Anyhow. I'll post something for Julz sake, then go find my notes on Digsite so I can grind out some stuff on that....
Story behind Digsite: I was working on 20KT1 (Norton Mounds in Kent County, MI) and some potentially associated sites (20KT279-20KT283, I believe, though it might only be up to 20KT281...) as part of the 2002 GVSU Archaeological Field school. One day, it got pretty stormy so we stayed on campus and went down to the cave to start cataloguing artifacts. Well. Eventually, this led to a chat between me, our lab tech Lisa, and some other folks about sites that they've worked in the past. Lisa told a story about how (I think she was an undergrad at the time) there was this archaeological site -- a burial site -- that was being excavated and they found a body that had been dumped there recently, resulting in their need to contact police, etc....this concept intrigued me, especially considering that we were working on a (burial) mounds site at time. So, thus the seeds for Digsite were planted in my mind. Since it's impossible for me to write anything without some kind of lovely and wonderful supernatural stuff going on in it, I decided that there has to be some paranormal stuff going on in this book, because that's just the way I am. So....yeah. That's the scoop ^_^ I'll get writing in short order.

Well, this is it. This is the blog that in the future will be 95% fiction. However....I need to decide what to concentrate on.
1) Discovering Phoenix ~ modern fiction, potentially with a paranormal aspect to it, definately a romantic aspect to it, but mostly just a story about a college student finding her way in a confusing world.
2) Digsite ~ paranormal suspense/mystery that deals with burial mounds, organized crime, and murder.
3) Untitled third project ~ the government is corrupt, dark, secretive -- Ailise knows this, and she wants others to realize it. The battle she's fighting is one she's losing, though...
That's about all I was considering putting in this blog. Any thoughts?
